Showmax is one of the largest and most successful subscription video on demand services serving sub-Saharan Africa. Showmax delivers top-shelf VOD service including Hollywood hits, TV series, local telenovelas, live sports, news, or music – all that through Showmax  apps available on smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, computers, media players, and gaming consoles. Engineering team has the unique challenge of supplying shows from Hollywood’s biggest studios, local African productions, and live sports from around the world to consumers in developing economies - all without compromising quality.

Engineering and development activities are centered in Prague. This team of almost 140 people is the engine room of Showmax and acts as a streaming center of excellence for the entire MultiChoice Group.


What is your mission in the first 3 months:

  • Be responsible for the overall onboarding process - you will be the buddy for newbies.

  • Manage trainings and individual employee development plans. You will hold the budget and together with team leaders you will actively plan all activities 

  • Work to increase employee satisfaction – plan onsite and offsite team buildings and ad hoc events

  • Together with other team members you will be at the heart of our community, listening and identifying areas for improvement, creating a good atmosphere and nurturing good relationships within the company.

  • Boost already launched employee awards programs.

  • Work to spread and strengthen the  company culture.

  • Be responsible for keeping updated the COVID testing rules and a comprehensive summary of overall measures.

  • Assist with the management of the HR agenda in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.

  • Implement and execute HR processes/projects.


We envision you as:

  • Previous experience on an HR Specialist position or similar.

  • Having practical experience in and knowledge of most of the HR topics, especially in: company culture, onboarding, corporate training and employee development.

  • Systematic, caring, responsible, organized, goal-oriented team member/mentor that we can 100% rely on.

  • English language on B level and higher.

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office (especially MS Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of HR processes.

  • Practical knowledge of labor law (nice to have).

  • Having great communication skills and being a team player – our team is small and we all help and support each other.
